The Gold Coast beaches in summer are magnificent places to be - the sun's shining, the water is warm and you're sure to see way more white pointers on the sand than you would out in the sea. But when the Christmas-New Years holidays combine with weekends and fun beachy waves, you sometimes have a recipe for disaster with crowds and surfers fight for the limited space on offer.

And so it takes some extra-special talent to dodge the summer beach-break dangers...
